4/28/09 - NBC 6/Telemundo 51 Health & Fitness Expo 2009

The weather was fantastic the weekend of the 5th annual NBC 6/Telemundo 51 Health & Fitness Expo, but that didnt stop over 55,000 South Floridians from attending the FREE event. Free health tests were offered, includingblood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index, bone density, cholesterol, lung function, hearing test, vision screening, and many more! Sponsors includedAmgen National Kidney Foundation, Birds Eye Foods, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Centro Medicos de las Americas, Garnier Nutritioniste, Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Leon Medical Center, MCCI Medical Group, MK Travel, and Walgreens. Panda Kitchen and Bath sponsored the Healthy Cooking stage and provided two beautiful, fully-functioning kitchen sets. Excitement ran high at noon with the 1st ever NBC-Telemundo cook-off! Lots of fun was had while learning how to eat and cook healthy food. A variety of family entertainment included-97.3 The Coast Performance Place where high energy acts, ranging from hip hop dance, jump rope, boxing, and more! Kids were bouncing in the Safari Experience, climbing the rock wall and soaring into the sky on the bungee jump. In addition to the screenings & activities attendees were able to meet their favorite NBC & Telemundo on-air personalities.
